Minutes of January 23, 2007

Social Hour is becoming more interesting as nearly everyone has been getting better acquainted, and of course the refreshments are so appetizing and plentiful.

POST MEETING
Meeting opened at 7:00 P.M. by Commander Robert Coronado in Bldg 6 with the normal formalities; including the Opening Prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance and Flag Salute and the POW-MIA Ceremony.
Officer of the Day Robert Moore reported twelve members present and no visitors. He also collected the contributions for the regular raffle.

Cmdr. Bob gave an an up to date Health Report on Jerry Lingren and QM Dave's recovery from their injuries. We all are praying for their quick recovery.

Commander gave a quick rundown of the visit by State, Department and District Officers and Auxiliary Presidents and their staffs. They commented favorably about our accomplishments and awards, also liked our meeting rooms.

Light Refreshments were served. (but no lite beer).

As a remembrance of our Post., a Military Veterans Plaque replica was presented to them.

The Commander mentioned the meeting at Ruby's On the Pier with Dr. Mike Loh who presented our Post with a donation check for $75.00 from Ruby's proceeds.

Bill Thomas spoke of the lack of sponsors'-ads renewals in our Newsletter. Unfortunately, with Jerry Lingren's illness, there has been a lack of sufficient effort from but a few other members.

Bill reported that he has an idea and will make an effort as soon as he recovers from his recent eye surgery. He asked for everyone to contact him so he can arrange a closer coordination of calls on the merchants so we don't all converge on the same ones.

QM & Service Officer Dave Van Aken reported on our current reduced membership mostly due to the nine members who have not renewed their memberships. Dave presented copies of our financial reports for all to review.
Dave also praised the efforts of the members who exerted the most time and effort to bring in the highest Buddy Poppy distributions.

Cmdr. Bob reemphasized the importance and great need to increase our membership,, and our 2007 goals. He reminded everyone about the Quarterly Post & Auxiliary Social Breakfast on Wednesday, February 7th at 9:00 a.m. . National Home Ceremony was held in the usual manner Next regular meeting is Tuesday, February 27, 2007
