MINUTES of March 27, 2007

POST MEETING opened at 7:00 P.M. by Commander Robert Coronado in Bldg #6 with the normal formalities.

Commander Bob discussed the recent District Meeting and stressed the need for our Post to increase membership. We are 6 members short of our goal and need efforts of all comrades to recruit new members.

He read the Patriots Pen Entry from Gabriel Barajas and showed our Post Award Certificate which will be presented at our next meeting.

Earlier we had an impressive presentation from our Post Eagle Scout of the Year (Cris Emmerson) and District Chairman (R. Cuciti) Our post approved a contribution of $215 to assist with expenses for attendance at scout meetings.

The next District meeting will be held at the Anaheim Holiday Inn on May 19th & 20th.

QM Dave gave the financial report showing the current balance at the end of February 2007. Donations of $45 from Albertsons, and $50 from Jim Mueller were noted and appreciated by our Post.

Membership Dues were discussed and it was agreed that our Post will increase yearly dues to $33 as recommended by National.

Orange County Fairgrounds VFW Booth needs volunteers to help man our booth from July 13-August 5 1970. Rod Carpenter is the chairman and should be contacted for more information. This is an excellent opportunity to increase membership.

Adjutant Wayne requested assistance of all members to contact sponsors of our Newsletter to determine their interest in renewing for 2007-08.

Sr. Vice Commander Perry Watson reviewed the Press Telegram newspaper features on Veterans combat experiences and passed out articles for all to review.

These Veterans of our Greatest Generation have many stories to tell, and we appreciate the Press Telegrams patriotic support.

Nominations Chairman Bill Thomas reviewed Post officer nominations for 2007-08 and indicated that all positions have been filled except the key positions of Commander and Vice Commander. We must have members willing to step up for this responsibility to insure the future success and continuation of our Post.

National Home Ceremony was held in the usual manner at closing.
