Minutes of May 22, 2007

POST MEETING opened at 7:30 P.M. by Commander Robert Coronado in Finbars Restaurant after Post Officer Initiation Dinner.

Commander Bob Commander Bob introduced District Quartermaster Robert Chermak and Tony Romano, Post Commander of the Fountain Valley VFW Post, who installed our 2007-08 Post Officers:

Commander Bill Thomas and post officers were congratulated and promised support by all members after the ceremony.

James Crowley announced that a large contingent of Marines are returning from Iraq on June 14th and Dan Schmaltz and himself volunteered to represent our post at the welcoming home party at Camp Pendleton. Since we have already planned a flag retirement ceremony on this date at McGaugh School we voiced our appreciation for Jim and Dan representing our post in welcoming home our troops after their extended duty. discussed our Patriots Pen Entry and reminded members of our $100 cash award to Gabriel Barajas. VOD literature from the district was distributed. He also gave a report on the Los Al Veterans Park and their need for skilled volunteers.

Memorial Day Ceremony plans for May 28th were reviewed by QM Dave. Bill Thomas will be the master of ceremonies and encouraged all members to attend. .

Next regular meeting is Tues June 26, 2007 -at the Naval Weapons Station. (6:00 PM Social Hour-7:00 PM Meeting) Refreshments by Auxiliary & Bill Thomas .
