Minutes of Nov 28, 2006

POST MEETING opened at 7:00 P.M. by Commander Robert Coronado in Bldg #6 with the normal formalities.

Officer of the Day Robert Moore introduced James Crowley as a newly transferred Lifetime member and Rino Rimoldi as a visitor to our post. Both gave a brief history of their military service.

Commander Bob gave an up to date report on QM Dave's recovery from his fall and we all are praying for his quick recovery. He also commented on the Dist Mtg attended by QM Dave. National has raised our members dues from $30 to $33 and our members voted to donate the additional cost from our post funds so we will not raise our dues.

Commander Bob advised all of a children Christmas party at the NWS and our members approved a $150 donation from our post funds.

Sr. Vice Commander Perry Watson reviewed plans for the grand opening of the Navy Golf Course/Complex on Dec 8th at 10:00 AM. Golf fees are $30.

Bill Thomas reviewed the Veterans Day Ceremony and advised those that were not present that all went smoothly and Bill was given an ovation for his excellent Master of Ceremonies performance.

Dan Schmaltz advised on the status of our Web Site and took photos of members for his update on http://www.ddsf-ent.com/vfwpost4048/

Adjutant Wayne requested assistance of all members to contact sponsors of our Newsletter to determine their interest in renewing for 2007.

Seal Beach Christmas parade is scheduled for Dec 1st and our post will assemble by the pier at 6:00 P.M. prior to the parade. The $25 fee was approved by all members.

Aux Social Luncheon sign up sheet was dist for the Wed, Dec. 13th 1:00 P.M. at Finbars, 620 Pacific Coast Highway. The ladies invited our members to attend.

Adjutant Wayne reviewed Poppy donations and will ensure that this money is deposited into our account. National Home and 50/50 funds will be handled in the same manner.

National Home Ceremony was held in the usual manner at closing.
